Wedding Invites . . .

September long weekend a dream will come true for me! I will get my very first sister! Well there is the "in-law" part you have to add on the end but the "sister" part is the important detail! I can't wait!!!

I finished the invitations tonight and I quite like them . . . I wish I would have made them when I got married . . . oh well!

Here they are:

Twins! . . . not mine! (praise the Lord . . . truly - he knows I could not handle that little adventure). However, a lovely lady I know (my brother's girlfriend's sister - got that?) is pregnant with twins. . . and not just any twins - IDENTICAL BOYS! Yikes!
So here are 34 baby shower invitations that I finally finished!
I love how the little ultrasound picture is included in the pocket. Such a miracle (the twins not the pocket). So I guess now it is on to my bother-in-law's wedding invites.

Christmas in May

Well May wasn't exactly full of spring weather, so when it snowed and snowed and snowed I was inspired to dig out my Christmas music and scrapbook Brylin's first Christmas. Little did I know that these pages would take me FOREVER. For some reason I just couldn't make them cooperate and do what I wanted. Anyway finally today I revisited them and got them done. I still think every time I look at them there will be something I will want to change but some pages are just like that. I do love the ribbon wrapped around the family picture - Brylin was the best gift ever!!! I can't wait for Christmas next year!

The papers and embellishments I used for these pages are from Tracie Stroud Designs' "Rustic Christmas" and from Growing Pains Scrapped 's "All I Want for Christmas". There were so many other papers and elements I wanted to use!! I can't wait to do more Christmas pages! In fact while I have been writing this I have been inspired to do another page . . . so I guess this is to be continued.

Just some cards . . .

Okay been absent for a week now . . . not that I haven't been thinking of, dreaming of and meaning to update my blog. I am currently in the midst of a pile of unfinished projects. Perhaps I should just take a picture of my LARGE pile of fabric that I have been collecting . . . so I will just share a few cards that I have been working on.

These are the 3 cards we made at Creative Club at my house last night.
A good time had by all . . .

Here is a link to a tutorial for the
paper flower on the first card. I used CTMH paper and button.

Here is a link to Lisa's Creative Corner (you should see her pretty Mother's Day card) where I got the idea for the second card. We used the stamp set from CTMH called "A Posy" - which I LOVE.

Here is a link to a video tutorial for making a flower pot card. We used the same "A Posy" stamp set.

Here is a card I made for my Brother -in -Law and his fiance when they moved into their new house. I just used a variety of old materials I had sitting around. . . I know the patterned paper is from Costco. . . I had a lot of fun making the house, clouds and grass.

And here are a few of the Mother's Day cards I made this year:

More Mother's Day . . .

Happy Mother's Day Everyone!!!
So I felt I needed to have something for my mom and my mother-in-law that was from Brylin. They are both first time Grandmas and so it seemed important to have something from their one and only grandson. So last minute (of course!) I decided to make a little mini album for both of them. These are Meander or Maze books and I had never made any like this before. I am sure I will make more as they were really easy and fun! The middle is made from 1-12x12 paper. Then you can easily use up scraps for the tags and to decorate. Super cute!!

Here is a link to a video tutorial if you want to make your own!!!

Mother's Day Project

Mother's Day . . . I've crossed over to the other side and am now part of the "mommy" club. It is exciting to experience Mother's Day with fresh eyes and to know that it is a day for me! Although I really still think of my mother, my mother in law, grandmas, aunts and friends that are all mothers first. I kinda think they are the real mothers - and some how I just snuck into their club. I like it here in the mommy clubhouse though - so I think I will stay. It is my wonderful baby boy that inspires me to be a better mother each and every day! I love you Brylin!

Anyway on to the crafting . . . so I thought it only appropriate that I share my Mother Day adventures with you. When I think of a mother I always think of my mom's (and my mother in law's) baking . . . and I figure every mother has to bake sometime. Yes even you Tracy!! So I made little oven mitts. Here is a link to the tutorial I found on The Idea Room. I thought they were just so cute. Mine are well . . . cute from a distance. If you look closely at the stitching you would think I was trying to assassinate the oven mitts with a needle and black thread. Oh well. I kinda feel like a little kid bringing home my craft from school.
Here are some pictures:

I made 4 pairs - for 4 lovely moms

Then I added a few cookie and muffin recipes:

I sure had fun making these and have a pair started for myself.

Thoughtful Thursday

I don't think a single day goes by that I don't think about or discover some new project that I want to do. Sometimes I overwhelm myself with a to do list. I have things planned in my brain for when Brylin graduates highschool!! Yikes. So I am going to devote my Thursday Blog entries to my future To Do List. I will share some fun ideas that I want to do and haven't got around to yet. Maybe some of you out there will find time to do it first and you can work out all of the kinks.

Okay so I came across this project yesterday and I LOVE it! A TEA CUP BIRD FEEDER! Of course my first thought was how long would it take me to gather materials and make?? Could I have it ready for Mother's Day on Sunday? Then I reigned myself back in and thought - next year for Mother's Day this will be my gift. And I will make one for myself too! We have almost finished our backyard and I can't wait to have some little birdies around!
Thanks to Little Birdie Secrets and Cap Creations for the idea - you can see the full tutorial here http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/

My First Scrapbooking Challenge

So digital scrapbooking has become me new favourite obsession (I am constantly on the lookout for the latest and greatest freebies). On Saturday, May 1st (interNational Scrapbooking Day) I got inspired to participate in a fun challenge on jessicasprague.com. The challenge was to use pictures you just took and include the words "today" and "miracle" in the title. Not hard to do for me, as "today" always seems to be a miracle when I am with my son, Brylin. The trickiest part of the challenge was to complete it in 1 hour or less. I used my full time . . . but was happy with the final product. The best part is that everything I used for this layout was free. You can find this kit at shabbyprincess.com - it is called Happy Go Lucky. I intend on using the kit to create many more fun pages. I am currently working on digitally scrapbooking Brylin's baby book, so keep watching for more pages.

The Beginning . . .

Well here it is . . . my first ever blog entry. I have been having so much fun lately looking at other people's fabulous blogs that I thought I would start one too. I want to document my creative side, and all the projects that I attempt, successful or not. Every time I see something handmade, beautiful, interesting or neat, I feel as though my life will not be complete unless I make it. Yes for most things, it would just be easier, faster and cheaper to go to Walmart or check eBay but that would just be BORING . . . so bring it on projects - I am ready for you!!!
