All Things Pumpkin

Okay Okay Okay . . . went through all of this work to start my crafting blog and I have ignored it for 2 months - but I have returned and have some exciting posts coming soon!

I figured since this weekend is Thanksgiving - a pumpkin post was in order so here we go. . .

I have not exactly made anything pumpkin related lately so I thought instead I would share some of my favourite "FUTURE PROJECTS" and recipes.

1. Fabric Pumpkins

Here is a link to where I found a tutorial and this beautiful picture.
My mantle is begging for some of these!

2. Wooden
Pumpkins

So simple and cute. . . I can picture these on our front step! Find the tutorial here.

It will be great to because even my husbandmight like being involved in this craft. . .it's very M
ANLY.

3.
Chocolate & Pumpkin Shortbread Bars

You had me at chocolate. . . yep basically chocolate
makes the entire world a better place.

I don't love pumpkin pie (shocking huh?) but these sound delicious.

You can find the recipe for them here.

Make sure you check out the rest of Picky Palate. . . I have at least 100 recipes book marked that I want to make from there.

Well I feel as though now I should indulge in a Pumpkin Spice Latte (the one my friend Carleen makes in her slow cooker - much better than Starbuck's!)

Have a lovely Turkey Day everyone!!!

Graduation Goodies- yum yum!

June has rolled around and I know there are graduations going on everywhere. . . Kindergarten, Highschool, College. My "kinda" sister-in-law just finished her degree at College in Olds. I have been promising her for the last 2 years that we would have a party when she was finally done and could move home. Well a couple of weekends ago we made it happen. It was supposed to be an outdoor BBQ but turned into an indoor bash at our house instead - silly weather. Anyway here are the banner and treats I made . . . I LOVED the chocolates so I am including instructions - easy and delicious! I should have taken pictures as I made them but didn't think of it - sorry!

I used my Cricut, circle cutter and some ribbon to make a personalized banner. It was easy and I am sure I will be making these in the future for my kids' birthdays. Under the banner are the grad hat chocolates on sticks. I stuck the sticks into some styrofoam.

I made the chocolates with the mini Reese Peanut Butter Cups and squares from a chocolate bar (Dove Bar I think). I stuck them together with dipping chocolate and used a sour tape cut into strips for the tassel. I attached the tassel and little yellow candy chip using icing. Best tip: freeze the peanut butter cups first so the wrappers come off easily. Insert sticks when they are back to room temperature. Super easy and they got rave reviews for tasting great too! I did not come up with this idea - here is the AWESOME site where I found these. I can't wait until I know someone else graduating so I can make them again!

Wedding Invites . . .

September long weekend a dream will come true for me! I will get my very first sister! Well there is the "in-law" part you have to add on the end but the "sister" part is the important detail! I can't wait!!!

I finished the invitations tonight and I quite like them . . . I wish I would have made them when I got married . . . oh well!

Here they are:

Twins! . . . not mine! (praise the Lord . . . truly - he knows I could not handle that little adventure). However, a lovely lady I know (my brother's girlfriend's sister - got that?) is pregnant with twins. . . and not just any twins - IDENTICAL BOYS! Yikes!
So here are 34 baby shower invitations that I finally finished!
I love how the little ultrasound picture is included in the pocket. Such a miracle (the twins not the pocket). So I guess now it is on to my bother-in-law's wedding invites.

Christmas in May

Well May wasn't exactly full of spring weather, so when it snowed and snowed and snowed I was inspired to dig out my Christmas music and scrapbook Brylin's first Christmas. Little did I know that these pages would take me FOREVER. For some reason I just couldn't make them cooperate and do what I wanted. Anyway finally today I revisited them and got them done. I still think every time I look at them there will be something I will want to change but some pages are just like that. I do love the ribbon wrapped around the family picture - Brylin was the best gift ever!!! I can't wait for Christmas next year!

The papers and embellishments I used for these pages are from Tracie Stroud Designs' "Rustic Christmas" and from Growing Pains Scrapped 's "All I Want for Christmas". There were so many other papers and elements I wanted to use!! I can't wait to do more Christmas pages! In fact while I have been writing this I have been inspired to do another page . . . so I guess this is to be continued.

Just some cards . . .

Okay been absent for a week now . . . not that I haven't been thinking of, dreaming of and meaning to update my blog. I am currently in the midst of a pile of unfinished projects. Perhaps I should just take a picture of my LARGE pile of fabric that I have been collecting . . . so I will just share a few cards that I have been working on.

These are the 3 cards we made at Creative Club at my house last night.
A good time had by all . . .

Here is a link to a tutorial for the
paper flower on the first card. I used CTMH paper and button.

Here is a link to Lisa's Creative Corner (you should see her pretty Mother's Day card) where I got the idea for the second card. We used the stamp set from CTMH called "A Posy" - which I LOVE.

Here is a link to a video tutorial for making a flower pot card. We used the same "A Posy" stamp set.

Here is a card I made for my Brother -in -Law and his fiance when they moved into their new house. I just used a variety of old materials I had sitting around. . . I know the patterned paper is from Costco. . . I had a lot of fun making the house, clouds and grass.

And here are a few of the Mother's Day cards I made this year:
